Motivated

It has been a little while since the last blog so I thought I would get motivated.

And you may have to ask Abby about this one.

America's Favorite Past Time

Dodgers and Phillies

We asked Abby and Cole if they wanted to play baseball this summer. They both gave us a yes, so we signed them up. Cole is in tee-ball and Abby is playing coach pitch. It is their first year. It is keeping us busy as the games are four nights a week, but just through the month of June. Cole loves it. Abby does not love it as much as Cole but she is definitely enjoying it even though she complains from time to time. They are both getting much better and they love to practice in the back yard with Dad. Cole's team is currently undefeated, just ask him.

Abby is making good contact with the ball, now she just needs to work on some power.

Father's Day

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY from KENNECOTT COPPER MINE

We decided to take a trip to the largest open pit copper mine in the United States for Father's Day. We had the whole fam damily come along for an intersting day learning about the mine. The visitors center takes you up toward the top of the mine and allows partial view down into the mine. It was good to have a former employee of Kennecott (Grandpa Kerry) there to explain the mining operation to us.

Yes we even got Zak to go with us.

Here is a tid bit of information about the mine.

Could this be the start of something? Stayed tuned.

Apparently Vans are back in style.

Inside the visitor's center there are exhibits, what nots, and what have you's that share information about mining, minerals, and the history of the mine. And of course there are plenty of buttons for kids to push.

You are not allowed to have food or drink in the visitors center. Jace smuggled in a drink and felt bad so he decided to share it.

And the item that gets the most attention at the mine is the large dump truck tire. This is a rare photograph. The reason it is rare you may ask. It is one of the only pictures that exist of the tire without a family standing in front of it.

All in all it was a fun excursion. Happy Father's Day!

Hey everyone! I finally did it (again - I lost the first one in cyberspace). Here is our blog...obviously the very first stage. Check back in about 6 weeks, when I am done teaching, and there might actually be something else on the site. Em
